What is Follistatin 1mg?
Follistatin is a secreted glycoprotein that binds and inhibits members of the TGF-β superfamily, most notably myostatin (GDF-8) and activin. This vial contains the FST-344 variant, the full-length circulating form, supplied as a lyophilized powder for research use. It has been studied for its role in skeletal muscle biology and activin pathway mechanisms, with high-affinity binding to myostatin that prevents activation of the ActRIIB receptor.
What is included and how is it prepared?
Each vial holds 1mg (1000mcg) of lyophilized Follistatin, verified at ≥98% purity by HPLC analysis. It is meant to be reconstituted with 1mL of sterile bacteriostatic water, giving a concentration of 1000mcg/mL. Add the diluent slowly along the vial wall, swirl gently, and let the powder dissolve fully before drawing a dose. On a standard 100 IU insulin syringe, 1 IU equals 10mcg, 5 IU equals 50mcg, and 10 IU equals 100mcg.
